Michael Ninburg has served as Executive Director of the Hepatitis Education Project (HEP) since 2001. HEP is a nonprofit organization in Seattle, WA dedicated to supporting hepatitis patients. In 2019, NVHR became the second national network under the HEP umbrella, joining the National Hepatitis Corrections Network. HEP works with patients, clinicians and policymakers, to provide direct services to and advocate for underserved and marginalized populations, including prisoners, persons who use drugs and people who are living homeless. Before joining HEP, Michael worked in the private sector with Apple Computer in the Czech Republic and Amazon.com in Seattle. He studied Philosophy at UCLA and has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Washington. Throughout his career, Michael has served as a consultant to a variety of governmental agencies and multilateral organizations, including the World Health Organization (WHO), the Pan American Health Organization/WHO, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and its agencies, including CDC. Michael previously served as President of the World Hepatitis Alliance and as Chair of the NVHR Steering Committee.
