Treatment Action Group (TAG) Featured in Oscar Nominated Documentary

How To Survive a Plague is an inspiring Oscar-nominated documentary about ACT-UP's work to end AIDS, focusing on the group's Treatment and Data (T and D) Committee.  In 1991, T and D members--including TAG's Executive Director, Mark Harrington--founded Treatment Action Group (TAG), an AIDS research and policy think tank also working in hepatitis C and tuberculosis. Community Health Center, Inc, Expands Videoconferencing for Hepatitis and HIV Management

Dr. Marwan Haddad, Medical Director of HIV, HCV and Buprenorphine Services at Community Health Center, Inc (CHC), a Connecticut based network of health centers, and an NVHR member organization, has spent the last year developing a videoconferencing consultation project reaching all of its sites in Connecticut, offering Hepatitis C and HIV management at all centers. CHC is now ready and able to offer HCV and HIV management to outside agencies who are looking to benefit from treating their own Hepatitis C and/or HIV patients. Taking Liver Health to Capitol Hill

NVHR members are busy taking their message to Capitol Hill. On February 14, 2013, The American Association for the Study of Liver Disease, Hepatitis Foundation International, and Trust for America’s Health are sponsoring a briefing in Congress hosted by several of our Congressional Champions. The briefing will highlight the critical need to promote liver health education in the National Agenda. For more information, and to attend this event, contact:

On March 20, 2013, NVHR is joining the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease for its annual Liver Capitol Hill Day. Patients and providers will team up to visit our Congressional Representatives to educate them about liver diseases, including viral hepatitis and liver cancer.
