Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services National Coverage Determination Proposed Decision Memo: Adding Hepatitis B as a Covered Medicare Preventative Service July 2016
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released a memo for adding hepatitis B screening as a covered Medicare preventive service for Medicare beneficiaries who are at high risk as defined by the United States Preventive Services Task Force. NVHR encouraged organizations and individuals to submit comments in support of the CMS proposal.

Medicare National Coverage Determination Request for Hepatitis B Screening May 28, 2015
NVHR, in partnership with the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations (AAPCHO), Hep B United, Hepatitis B Foundation, the National Task Force on Hepatitis B, and many co-signing organizations submitted a formal request that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services initiate a National Coverage Determination process for including hepatitis B screening of high risk individuals as a covered Medicare preventive service.
