NVHR cosponsored a National Hepatitis Testing Day event for National Hepatitis Testing Day on May 19, 2016. The event was organized and led by our partner organization, Caring Ambassadors, at three DC locations. Free hepatitis B and C testing was available at all locations. Samples of Hepatitis Awareness Proclamations

Hepatitis Awareness Proclamation Request
CDC provides information on how to request a Hepatitis Awareness proclamation. Ask your mayor or local governing body to issue a proclamation recognizing May as Hepatitis Awareness Month and/or May 19 as Hepatitis Testing Day. After you get the proclamation, send a press release about it to your local paper.

CA Viral Hepatitis Awareness Day Additional Language: California Hepatitis Awareness Day
This one-pager describes a resolution, Assembly Concurrent Resolution 57, and how it would raise much needed awareness regarding the risks associated with viral hepatitis and the importance of getting tested and treated, by declaring May 19, 2015 as Viral Hepatitis Awareness Day in California.

CDC's Know More Hepatitis Campaign for Baby Boomers
CDC’s Know More Hepatitis campaign encourages people born from 1945-1965 to get tested for hepatitis C. Click the link for campaign materials, posters, video PSAs, and infographics.

CDC’s Know Hepatitis B Campaign for Asian Americans
CDC’s Know Hepatitis B campaign promotes hepatitis B testing among Asian Americans. Again, the CDC has a variety of campaign materials that organizations can use to promote this event.

National African American Hepatitis C Action Day
The National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS, Inc. invites organizations to support World Hepatitis Day by signing-on to host activities in their City on or leading up to July 25, 2016, which is right before World Hepatitis Day (July 28th, 2016).

World Hepatitis Day
This website provides information about World Hepatitis Day, which is July 28th, 2016. It includes campaign materials for organizations to use throughout the month of July.

National Directories of Testing Facilities

Hepatitis C Testing Facilities
The Caring Ambassadors HCV Testing Sites map lists only facilities offering free or low cost hepatitis C screening services for those with limited resources due to lack of health insurance, lack of coverage for such testing, and/or limited financial resources.

This site allows people to search for a facility near them that has a Fibroscan.
