NVHR's new Public Policy Manager
Christine Rodriguez joined NVHR on June 30, 2014, as our new Public Policy Manager. Based in Washington, DC, Christine will advance NVHR's viral hepatitis legislative and appropriations priorities.
Christine's main career goal is to improve community health as a tool to advance social justice, and is excited to work toward that goal with NVHR and its many dedicated and talented member organizations. She most recently worked in the national advocacy and organizing program at Housing Works, a New York-based organization seeking to end the dual epidemics of HIV/AIDS and homelessness. She also sits on the Board of HIPS, which promotes the health, rights, and dignity of individuals and communities in the District of Columbia impacted by sexual exchange and/or drug use due to choice, coercion, or circumstance. Christine – being a Californian at heart – earned a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Health and Social Behavior from U.C. Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies focused in Sociology from Pomona College. Outside of work, Christine digs reading a good novel; thinking about exercising; getting out of the city; and anything involving food, friends, or family.
