NVHR Strategic Plan
NVHR’s Steering Committee meets annually to review and update its priorities. Read NVHR’s 2013 Strategic Plan Here
The National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable NVHR is a coalition of more than 200 public, private and voluntary organizations dedicated to reducing the incidence of infection, morbidity and mortality from viral hepatitis in the United States. We accomplish this by advocating for at-risk populations, convening visionary leaders and coordinating a unified national response to viral hepatitis, based on current research. NVHR is the leading coalition in the viral hepatitis advocacy movement, and the only national coalition focused on coordinating a comprehensive response to both hepatitis B and hepatitis C.
- Advocacy: We recognize the profound need to eliminate the silence, stigma, health disparities, and inequities associated with viral hepatitis.
- Education: We believe that we can end the viral hepatitis epidemic through the sharing of knowledge, the development of effective leaders, and the expansion of access to prevention, testing, care, and treatment.
- Collaboration: We affirm the value and necessity of mobilizing a coordinated response to viral hepatitis driven by those communities most affected by these viruses.
Goal 1: Viral hepatitis awareness, screening, testing, prevention, care and treatment services are strengthened and expanded through increased Administration and Congressional action.
Strategy: Promote leadership and engagement on viral hepatitis policy among members of Congress and the Administration through advocacy, outreach and education.
Goal 2: Implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) ensures comprehensive, affordable viral hepatitis services, minimizes geographic and racial/ethnic disparities, and improves the quality and accessibility of viral hepatitis care.
Strategy: Lead and support advocacy for inclusion and coverage of viral hepatitis services in the Affordable Care Act.
Goal 3: Through leadership and outreach, NVHR increases visibility and awareness of viral hepatitis in the United States.
Strategy: Implement a comprehensive media plan to bring attention to NVHR and viral hepatitis by leveraging current events, such as new treatments, policies, awareness events, and patient stories.
